Old Homestead

So I am doing a little babysitting this morning while my next door neighbor/ good friend goes to the gym for some toning, and talking!  It has really been a crazy few weeks… as you can probably guess I am back in Red Lodge.  I have been here for almost three weeks now, and a lot has changed in my life since pulling out  of good old Bozo.  I guess this is just the spring for growth ( I say spring loosely, as it is snowing outside), I have been doing quite a bit of soul searching since I have been here and come up with some new “moves” for my life.  Now I am not quite ready to spill the beans yet, but when I do you’ll be the first ones to know!

Until then I will leave you with a list of some of the fun stuff I have been doing while in the R of L!

  • Dancing… Lots of dancing
  • cookouts and BBQ’s
  • Skiing… sometimes in slush
  • Working on my Goggle tan
  • Babysitting
  • Solving Mysteries
  • Making new friends from Shy Town
  • Throwing going away parties
  • Going to the employee party on the mountain
  • Having Snowball Fights
  • Watching Snow Motion- which is this REALLY hilarious ski movie from the 80s that you should remind me/badger me to write a post about!  it is probably one of the “greatest” things I have ever seen in my life!
  • Helped Make Ty’s Meed, which is a type of wine
  • Learned to play Cribbage
  • Watched it snow… after the mountain was closed BOO
  • Thought about college
  • Learned how to knit a new hat… which is AWESOME
  • And Learned that Dolly Freakin Moe is one of the Coolest People I know

O ya and one last thing, although I am not putting it on my list.  I have learned that sometimes you are given all you can handle, sometimes God throws you for a loop, and tries to take you down with all the hard stuff at once, but that’s OK. If these are my trials I am looking forward to the rewards.  I am not “pumping the brakes”, I am “full speed ahead”.  Although I have shed some tears lately, and although I am still upset with the outcome of certain situations I am proud of my behavior, and the person that I will become from my cercomstances.

Also I would just like to add that boys are tricky… they really are a breed of their own.  I am still learning them (and loving them), but mostly I JUST WANT TO BE YOUR FRIEND!!!

Peace & Love

and until next time

XOXO

Playing In The Snow With Pops

Alright so I have a lot of writing to do to truly “catch up”, but I figured I would start with this story!  While visiting Red Lodge (on my extended stay) I went snow shoeing for the first time, and let me just tell you AMAZING!  It was one of the coolest winter activities I have ever tried, you can just about go anywhere, and you never fall through the many layers of snow!

So my dad and I have been planning this activity for quite sometime, but every time that I get home I either have pneumonia, or it dumps so much snow that I am to destracted to think of anything other than SKIING!  well we woke up and it was a beautiful day out… seriously one for the books.  So we packed up our gear and headed out of town.  Once there it took me some time to get those little buggers on my feet, which I did without grace, or style hahaha.  But once they were on I was off.  We hiked through the girl scout camp, up the West Fork, and along side the river.

All in all we hiked about an hour up, and 45 minutes down.  I got some great photos, and also some great quality time with dad!  I even liked it so much I went back and did it again the next day all by myself!

img_1727This was a HUGE stove that stood alone in the middle of the forest!!! It was really cool, perfect for a photo shoot!

This is the view looking from the ground up, while standing next to the huge stove!

These are just some of the amazing ice cicles that were living underneath bridge two! (I used my sick new lens to take these)

I am having some troubles sleeping, and I am so over TV its not even funny!  So instead of making progress around my house, or prefecting my resume I decided it was time for my blog to get a face lift!  haha!!!!

It has been to long since I have written a new post, but honestly I just haven’t had time, and when I have had time I have been in a “mood”.

So here is a quick recap on my past few weeks…

  • Finished up the race season
  • Traveled to Red Lodge for three days (which turned into ten)
  • Hung out with friends
  • Skied 6 powder days in a row
  • Watched it snow 21 inches in less then 48 hours
  • Went snow shoeing with my dad
  • Got a new nickname… I will explain later :)
  • Made some new friends
  • Went on a date with a HOT/nice boy
  • Lost my voice
  • Worked my first Telemark race
  • Worked the 70th annual White Stag
  • Won second place in the White Stag
  • My team won 1st place in the White Stag
  • Came back to Bozo
  • Worked the final race of the season OHG
  • Played with Pam
  • Lost my VOICE!!!!!

Ya so I think its safe to say that I have been a very busy little girl!  I have many stories to tell, but tonight is not the night… and there will be many more to come… I am headed back to Red Lodge tomorrow afternoon for Easter.  And to play with my friends, and take OY to jail (he’s a dog, and its an obedience thing).

Well Peace for now, will add more soon… PROMISE!

So this morning at 8 a.m. downtown Bozeman BLEW UP!!!  This local bar called Boodles had a natural gas explosion and took half of the block with it! YIKES!

There is still no idea if people were lost in the explosion, but its not looking good!  Over half the town felt the explosion, not to mention lost power.  My roommate works down the street a few blocks and she said it felt like an airplane hit the building the shake was so strong!

The buildings that were lost were very historical, and will be missed by many (mostly cause they were bars haha).  Our thoughts and prayers are with those who were injured or effected!

Getting Better

Well my dear readers (all 3 of you) I have been, sick, sick, sick.  Last week I found out I have walking pneumonia.  I am feeling much better, but I won’t lie it has been a rough few weeks!!!  On Saturday I left Bozeman and headed home for Red Lodge.  Which would have been all well, and great, but I COULDN’T DRIVE!  I was so weak and tired my dad had to come and pick me up in his Peterbuilt semi truck and take me home.  I was so tired, and sick that I seriously don’t even remember the ride home.

Saturday-Monday was pretty rough, I was just so weak, and tired that life was not really “living”.  I spent my days on a couch with my best friend “Keelnex”.

On Tuesday dad and I packed up and left again for Bozeman, I was feeling my better, but still REALLY tired!!! We pulled into Bozeman at 10p.m. and crashed into bed!

Today has been pretty good.  I am still trying to “sleep” it off, but I am also trying to get back to real life!… which I really have to do cause I have a race this weekend!

BOO, Day 4!

So it has been four days now and I am only getting sicker!  I am about to head to the doctor cause I am pretty sure that I have strep throat!

Tuesday I woke up and had a sore throat, and by the time I went to bed I was sore and achy all over!

Wednesday morning I woke up and pretty much felt like I was dying.  By the time 3p.m. rolled around I was hanging over the toilet for the next 12 hours.

Thursday was a little better only because I had yet to hurl again, but other than that I was feelin pretty rough!

So now I still can’t get rid of my fever, and my throat feels like I have swolowed shards of glass.  UHG!!!!
