Dora: I think the word Dora is one of my favorite words, i know it sounds crazy, but my niece is obsessed with Dora.  Whenever Harper sees Dora on TV, in the store, or is listening to her in the car she proceeds to scream Dora’s name over and over.  I love it, sometimes when i am on the phone with her and i can’t get her to talk i will simply say something about Dora, and she will just go off!   Donuts:  MMMM, if there is one think i truly love its donuts.  Its funny though i really don’t like the ones you get fresh from the bakery, i like the ones that come in the packages that you can get at 711, or grocery stores!  They remind me of childhood, everything from the waxy wrappers, to the quickly melting chocolate, to the dry bubbly breaded inside.  When i was a kid my mom would get them for me as a treat and hide them in random  places around the house, which i would always try to find!   Harper and CC

Chair Lifts:  Ok so i know that there is probably something wrong with the fact that i like chairlifts so much, but they are really quite amazing if you think about it!  When arriving at the mountain day after day i continue to have the same routine, i boot up, bind in, and cruise over to the lift line.  I love the feeling of my butt hitting the cold seat, the fact that i can see my breathe in front of me, and hear the laughter of the children behind me.  Every time i ride the lift i get this feeling in my stomach, kinda like butterflies or something, i get nervous and excited!  Chocolate: Alright so ya pretty much every girl loves chocolate, but i think its more of an addiction to me.  I will try just about anything that has chocolate in the name, i have even tried chocolate ale (not my fav chocolate treat).  The best part about being single is the fact that it is so versatile, you can have it cold in ice cream, hot in coco, and right out of the wrapper.

Trouble with words

I get myself in trouble at least once a day with the stupid stuff i say, but i think i have topped myself.  This week i actually got in trouble for the words i didn’t say!  For some reason i have always had a hard time asking the hard questions in life… like really, its even hard for me to talk to my sister sometimes!  I have always had this horrible fear of rejection, which is stupid cause the worst anyone can say is “NO”.  Well i had this whole plan on how i was going to approach a certain situation, everything was going according to plan, but then i froze, i literally couldn’t find the words!  So as usual i walked away from the situation feeling stupid, and anger!  I mean here i am claiming to be an adult, but i can’t even express my mind, come one!  Minutes after realizing my mistake i decided that i was determined to speak my mind, the resolution to this problem should have been as simple as a 2 minute phone convo, but no i’m apparently to scared of that too, so no Courtney here decided she would portrait her feeling through a text message! WHAT!  only minutes after pouring out my heart through a message that holds 160 letters or less i began to realize just how stupid i truly am!  its been 2 days since the unveiling of my stupidity and i have still not received a response to my text, my only hope is that this person didn’t receive the in-closed information, and that i will have a chance to redeem myself.  Oi VA!

Someone showed me this my sophomore year in college and it has never gotten old!  I mean really what’s better than drunk people dancing!    I don’t know about you, but this show cracks me up!  I think I would marry Kevin if I could!

B was kind of a hard one for me to come up with, but when in a bind i turn to my itunes playlist just in time for the song “Bathtime in Clerkenwell”!  I know what a name for a song, but seriously you have to give it a listen, it is so much fun.  Whenever i find myself in a sour mood i crank this one up and suddenly i become this goofy little kid again!  it sounds like something you would here in a foreign country, mixed with something that reminds me of cotton candy and hot dogs! Bike:  I love bicycles wether they are old, new, mountain, street, or even motor.  Bicycles are truly one of the only “fads” that never goes out of style.  Bikes remind me of childhood, and freedom.  I can still remember those first few peddles i took on my own, i felt free, and untamed, it was my getaway car at five!  For over ten years of my life my bike was my main form of transportation, in fact my bike is sitting in the next room right now.  When i think about my childhood my bike was like my batmobile, where  i went it went, i have memories of riding it to the Candy Emporium, the creek, the park, the grocery store.  My dad and i used to ride our bikes up the canyon out of town, we would ride like ten miles, just he and i.  We  would race up the hills, cruise down the flats, and i would scream when i was forced to ride over the cow grids ( its like a gate placed on the road, and if the cows try to walk on it they get stuck).  The bike has really been my friend these days too, i have some cracked ribs, and a messed up tail bone so for rehab they have me riding the bike at the local gym.  Its funny these days my primary use for my bike is transportation of course, but i use it as a form of fitness, while being a child it was just another fun game to play.

Ok, so i’m steeling this one from my sisters page, but it looked really fun and i wanted to give it a try!  A: Apples, I love apples, i know it sounds pretty cheesy, but if you think about it they really are like the perfect food!  They go in everything from pies, to salads, to snacks, the possibilities are really just endless!  I guess my true passion for this fine fruit came when i was forced to wear braces (for almost three years), i knew that there were foods that i was going to have to give up, but i never realized what an impact it would make on my life!  i know it sounds crazy, but try to picture not biting into an apple for almost 3 years, yes i could have them cut up into little pieces so i could eat them, but its just not the same!  Eating a cut up apple just didn’t have the same effect, there was no juice running down your face, no crunching sound as you tore into that first delicious bite, not to mention eating apples with peanut butter (mmm one of my favs).  Not to mention the most famous saying of all “an apple a day keeps the doctor away”.

Ok, so i know that this is really weird, but i have just discovered my new favorite TV show, its WEEDS.  You know its that show about the suburban mom who loses her husband, so to support her family she becomes a drug dealer!  I know it sounds crazy, but every episode is so clever, and although the show revolves around pot, there is so much more to the story line! Every time i watch the show i am totally immersed in this life that i will never know, but i love it, when an episode ends a literal tear is brought to my eyes.  I could say so many things to try to persuade you to watch the show, or try to explain it, but it really is to great.  Its one of those “well rounded” shows, in the sense that it has drama, comedy, romance, and the list goes on! I am pretty sure if this was my life, and my mom was a drug dealer i wouldn’t find the concept so compelling, but I really don’t think i have to worry about that (haha).  I don’t know its not that i am trying to say smoking pot is okay, but i think i would rather have my kids smoke a joint, than go out drinking with their friends.  CRAZY, i know, but just hear me out… teens that smoke the occasional bowl, or joint are not compelled to go out driving, and harm not only themselves, but others.  Alcohol on the other hand is not a controlled substance by any means, kids are compelled to drive, jump off bridges, or play football on roof tops.  When getting high I’m pretty sure the only thing you will be destroying is your parents pantry (munchies)! I find it funny all the things that we watch on TV, things that we do not understand, or things that we do not agree with, but we continue to go back week after week.  I have come to the conclusion that TV is our alter ego, we watch shows and movies of things that we secretly wish we could be apart of… even just once.

Although this is a new blog, this is not my first blog.  I had trouble comiting to my last blog, so we ended things, only for me to create a much newer, hipper blog, with better readers, and a snazzier layout! Before creating my blog I was very skeptical, I mean if you think about it a blog is really just a journal that you post for the whole world to see.  Either that or its just a way to become that journalist you always wanted to become, even if you do have horrible gramer, and spelling (thats me).  Its funny one of the first things that I looked at when choosing a blog was of course “the way it looked”, I wanted something flashy, and vintage, kinda like if you were looking at an old scrapbook!  Which is funny cause we create a blog to portray our thoughts through words, but then again I guess I am just visual person.  Just a few fun facts to share with my new readers:I love the snow, sometimes i think i crave the cold, i hate to capitalize “I”, bad luck follows wherever i go… no really, i am a total hippy… with great fashion sense, Al Gore is my hero, i am a ski racer who loves to hate Bode Miller, i am terrified of asking hard questions, i hate talking on the phone… i love texting, i have a tattoo on the back of my neck… a little peace sign. ENJOY!
